Shawn David Martin's Obituary
Shawn David Martin, 59, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Bethlehem Woods Nursing Home, Fort Wayne, surrounded by his family. Born in Allen County, he served his country in the US Air Force. He had worked as an engineer for Norfolk and Southern Railroad, and at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. As an avid Tennessee Volunteers and Detroit Lions fan, he spent most weekends enjoying watching football. While living in Indianapolis, he enjoyed walking around monument circle and watching baseball games at Victory Field.
He is survived by his children, Brittany (Joel) Bunnell, Jacob (Katlyn) Martin, and Emma (Ryan) King; father, John (Glenna) Martin; siblings, Brandon and Laurie Martin; grandchildren, Wren, Emry and Leo Bunnell, Patrick, Oliv, Marcee, and Coraline Martin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua David Martin; and mother, Dianne Motley.
Memorial service is 12 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home. 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation two hours prior (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.). Inurnment at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Cemetery, New Haven with military honors.
