Born in Fort Wayne, she was the only daughter of the late Kurt and Edith (Steil) Boehme and grew up with her two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest, who also preceded her in death. She married her husband of 52 years, Delbert E. Busche, on March 2, 1957, who preceded her in death in 2009.
