Sally Jean Ray's Obituary
Sally Jean Ray, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at The Waters, Fort Wayne. Born in Alpena, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Violet (Smeader) Hiser. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She enjoyed "jitterbugging" to 50s music and watching tennis and figure skating. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events and plays.
She is survived by her sons, James, Randall (Judy), and William Ray; brother, Richard (Linda) Hiser of Alpena, MI; grandchildren, Rachel (Trey) Rowe, Casey, Kyle (Lauren Hendricks), Ashlyn, and Braeden Ray; step-granddaughter, Kelley (Eddie) Konrad; great grandchildren, Layla, Hallie, and Lana; and step great grandchildren, McKenna and Brynn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, of 44 years in 2003; and siblings, James Hiser and Marvis Moskanas.
Funeral service is 11 am Friday, April 5, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church.
