Ruth L. Warden's Obituary
Ruth L. Warden, 91 passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Bedford, IN she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Daisy (Smith) Jordan. It was in Seymour, IN where she met her future husband of 53 years, Doug Warden, who preceded her in death in 1997. She was active in her New Haven community, where she worked election precincts and enjoyed the company of her lifelong friends within the New Haven United Methodist Church and her card club. Ruth also enjoyed volunteering her time at American Red Cross. If she had a “second” home, it was at Palmer and Leidy lakes in Michigan. She also loved to fish, and could have been the best “fisherman” of the family. Although she worked with Marsh supermarket and Hardware Wholesalers, Inc., her pride and passion was her family.
She is survived by her children, Carol. (Chuck) Weick of Coldwater, MI and Steve Warden of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Emma Baltzell and Lois Luttrell.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 SR 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to American Red Cross.
