Ruth Imogene Knoblauch's Obituary
Ruth I. Knoblauch, 95, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Lutheran Life Villages at Pine Valley, Fort Wayne. Born in Payne, Ohio she was the daughter of the late James and Leona "Pearl" (Merica) Davis. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. She was the matriarch of the family, a proud homemaker and mother, had the fanciest decorated farmhouse around, never passed up a shopping trip, was a crossword whiz, a golfer, a ballroom dancer, loved drinking Manhattans and playing cards, quick-witted, was fiercely independent, and generous. She is survived by her children, Tim (Char) Knoblauch of Angola and Wendy (Terry) Powell of New Haven; twin sister, Esther Fisher of Latty, OH; grandchildren, Traci (Peter) Nordberg, Ryan (Karri) Knoblauch, Michael (Rufina) Knoblauch, Emily (Keegan) Wentz and Evan Powell; and great grandchildren, Ella, Kate, Louisa, Madelyne, Hayden, Christian, Daniel and James; great great grandson, Ford. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Fredrick in 2007; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St, Woodburn with visitation two hours prior. Burial in the church cemetery.
