Ruth Gross, 76, of New Haven, formerly of Rome City, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, December 8, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Hoagland, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma Benziner. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Wolcottville. There is no love like a grandmother's love, and Ruth's grandchildren can attest to that.
She is survived by children, Karen (Gary) Best and Larry Gross both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Sarah (Tony) Puckett of Indianapolis, Justin Gross, Jacob Best, Joseph (Caitlyn) Best and Christine Best all of Fort Wayne; siblings, Gert Savage, Mildred Nagle, and Marilyn (Delmar) Felger all of Fort Wayne, and Doris Holmes of Hoagland; four great grandchildren; and one step great grandson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gross; four brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor James Tews officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Messiah Lutheran Church, Wolcottville.
