Ruth M. Griebel's Obituary
Ruth M. Griebel, 83, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Lutheran Life Villages, Ft. Wayne. Born in Wauseon, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Florence (Clark) Rychener. She was an R.N. at the Lutheran Hospital, Red Cross, and Lutheran Life Villages where she retired as head nurse in 1990 after 23 years. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed sharing her interest in crafting with her family, traveling with Carl and their friends, reading and gardening. She shared her love of Christ by her loving example.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl; children, Bob (Chris) Griebel, Roger (Heidi) Griebel and Diane (Ken) Post of Ft. Wayne, Jim (Jill) Griebel of Hoagland, Carla (Doug) Yoder of Goshen; sisters, Jean O'Shaughnessy and Mary Aghabekian of Ft. Wayne; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Rupp; and brother James Rychener.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Soest), 9909 Wayne Trace, Ft. Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Kyle Krueger and Rev. David Griebel officiating. Calling is also 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Ft. Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Lutheran Life Villages and the church.
