Russell C Fry's Obituary
Russell C. Fry, 76, of New Haven passed away July 29, 2011 at Parkview Hospital North, Fort Wayne. The Fort Wayne native was the son of the late Albert and Bessie Fry. He was a graduate of Concordia High School, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Russell had a 35 year career with the US Postal Service. The last 15 years of which, he was Postmaster of Woodburn, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. Russell enjoyed swimming laps at South Side Natatorium, fishing, gardening, watching the grandchildren participate in school events, going to auctions and collecting antiques.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita; sons: Roger, Rodney (Joni), both of Fort Wayne, Randall (Tammy) of New Haven; daughters: Renee (Rick) Perkins of New Haven, Rhonda (Richard) Kelley of Fort Wayne; sister, Barbara Fry of New Haven; grandchildren: Jennifer Fry, Ian, Paige, Spencer Perkins, Cameron and Taylor Fry, Amy and Wesley Fry and great granddaughter, Chevy Nichole. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melissa Perkins.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Tuesday. August 2, 2011 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven, with calling 1 hour prior to service. The Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is also from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m., Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 State Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Emanuel Lutheran Church.
