Sheryl and family, sorry for your loss but hope you will find comfort in the fact he is in a much better place and no longer has to suffer. It was my pleasure to work with Roy in regards to Hosfield Enterprises here in Lebanon a few years ago. Though we never worked directly with each other, we both ended up working for National City though different mergers and knew several of the same folks. It was a real pleasure to get to know Roy and work with him a little in regards to the family business. We wish you all the best as you move forward after this loss to your family. Jon Stevens

Roy was a great mentor of mine and he might not have even known I considered him that highly. I do regret not making the time to make sure he knew. He did a lot for the Monroeville and East Allen area and especially for me, just because it was who he was. He recognized my gifts for leadership long before anyone. He helped spearhead my tuiton to send me to Leadership Fort Wayne because he said, "one day you will be the leader of the NewAllen Alliance." He planned that well! He was a founding board member of NewAllen and he was a founding board member of the Cornerstone Youth Center and helped procure the very first dollars to pay for our nonprofit application and wrote some of the first grants for the very first major dollars raised. As you can see by his obituary, he also did a lot more. Please keep Sheryl Hosfield and her family in your prayers. It has been a long road and I pray Roy is looking down with the encouraging words he said many times when I thought things weren't going to work out. Thank you Roy! "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."

Roy was my Junior Achievement Consultant for many years in my economic classes at Heritage. He always had great ideas for the students to learn lessons and to contribute to the community. We were a little hesitant, but we’re able to participate in getting out the survey in Monroeville that was necessary to get the matching funds for the, then, new water tower. It was quite a lesson and the kids had fun. He was a great and caring man to have spent so many years coming to my classroom. Condolences to Roy’s family.
