Ronald A. "Ron" Zeitlow's Obituary
Ronald A. Zeitlow, 73, died June 2, 2013 at Parkview Hospital - Randallia. Born in McPherson, KS, he was the son of the late Milton and Margaret Zeitlow. He was an active member of the New Haven United Methodist Church. He was a project engineer for International Harvester/Navistar for 44 years before retiring in 2007. Ron was a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Professional Engineers of Indiana and received the Ft. Wayne Citizen Engineer Award in 1989. He also received the Indiana State Chapter MS Courage Award in 1996. He proudly served his country in the National Guard, first in Kansas then Indiana. Ron was a1956 graduate of Roxbury High School and then a 1961 graduate of Kansas State College (University).
He was a skilled woodworker and so enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their various events and activities.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lois Zeitlow; children: Debbie (John) Crothers of Ft. Wayne, Terry (Jill) Zeitlow of Granger, Roy (Pam) Zeitlow of IL; sister: Margaret (Warren) Schmidt of KS and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy. E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service time. Calling is also 5-8 pm Tues. at the E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church or the Indiana State Chapter –Multiple Sclerosis Society.
