Mr. Ronald H. "Bull" Smith's Obituary
Ronald “Bull” H. Smith, 79, of New Haven, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Laporte, he was the son of the late Howard and Alice Smith. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. The US Air Force Korean war veteran was a member of American Legion Post 330 and Howard Bandelier VFW Post 2457. He retired in 1993 with over 30 years as a union electrician. He had been a longtime member of the I.B.E.W. Local 305.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Smith; children, Shari (Kenneth) Schaab and Mike (Sheila) Smith both of Fort Wayne, Ronald Smith of Fremont, and Steve (Carolyn) Smith of Crossville, Tenn.; siblings, Shirley Shaw of New Haven, John (Lenore) Smith of Angola, Jerry (Karen) Smith of South Bend, and Norm Smith of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by step-father, Walter Budzon; brother, David Smith; brothers-in-law, Raymond Bush and Dan Shaw; and sister-in-law, Beverly Smith
Service is 10 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. The Rev. Arthur Klausmeier officiating. Calling is also Thursday 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven with military honors by American Legion Post 330. Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer’s Association.
