Roger Lee Kraner's Obituary
Roger Lee Kraner, 78, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Bryant, he was the son of the late Paul and Madonna (Bancroft) Kraner. He attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He also proudly served with the honor guard. He retired from Sears after 26 years. Roger enjoyed tinkering around the house, computers, studying genealogy, and spending time with family. Roger’s favorite quotes were “You are worth it.” and “Don’t tell me what to do.” He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth (Myers); sons, Rodney (Tina) and Ryan Kraner; siblings, Rex (Liz) Kraner, Sarah (Lynn) Rhoades, and Wanda (Keith) Affolder; grandchildren, Austin (Mary) Kraner, Zachery (Jessica) Kraner, Eryka (Mason) Brandenberger, Trever (Emily) Kraner, and Maya; and great grandchildren, Liberty, Bowen, Emryn, Nora, and Izabel. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Warren and Joe Kraner.
Graveside service is 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Bower Cemetery, 9101 Stellhorn Rd., Fort Wayne with military honors. Visitation is 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday May 16, 2023, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd 930 E., New Haven. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Riley Children’s Hospital.
