Robert "Bob" Stafford Jr.'s Obituary
Robert E “Bob” Stafford Jr., 81, of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community, Fort Wayne. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Blanche (Hathaway) Stafford. He served his country in the US Army and the Army Reserve. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Auburn. Bob enjoyed bowling, golf, IU basketball, and following the Dallas Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts. He excelled in fast pitch softball and played in the World Series twice. Above all he loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol (Johnson) Stafford; children, Kelly Cannon, and Brent (Amy) Stafford both of New Haven; sister, Marilyn Goble of Garrett; grandchildren, Kaelen and Connor Cannon, and Brenna Stafford. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Donald and Glenn Stafford, and Roxann Shireman. Funeral service is 3 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.
