Robert "Bob" L. Jacquay, Sr.'s Obituary
Robert "Bob" L. Jacquay, Sr., 88, of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Parkview Hospital. Born in Jefferson Twp., Allen County, he was the son of the late Herschal and Ella Jacquay. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The World War II Navy veteran was a member of American Legion Post 330, Howard Bandelier VFW 2457, and Navy Club Ship 245. He retired from International Harvester after 41 years of service. He was also owner and operator of Robert Jacquay Plumbing and Electrical.
He is survived by his children, Gregory Jacquay of New Haven, Robert Jacquay, Jr., of Coldwater, MI and Cheryl (Joe) Seelig of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, Chelsea & Karisa Jacquay, Cathy Nienhaus, Crystal Berry, Jeff & Coby Seelig; great-grandchildren, Necholette and Skylar Berry, and Adalyn and Daygen Nienhaus; and siblings, Kenneth Eugene Jacquay and Mary Lou Renier both of New Haven. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Metta Jean Jacquay in 2011; and siblings, Bernon Jacquay, Georgiana Jacobs, Marcile DeRose and Margorie Linder.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling ½ hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven with a vigil at 6:15 p.m. Burial is in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Masses or donor's choice.
