Robert "Bob" D. Kimmel's Obituary
Robert “Bob” D. Kimmel, 86, of Ossian, formerly of New Haven went to his heavenly home, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Ossian Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Garrett, he was the son of the late Arthur and Emma Kimmel. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Ossian. The WWII Navy veteran retired in 1985 from International Harvester after 30 years of service. He dearly loved his family and especially his wonderful grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn; children, Daniel M. (Lisa) Kimmel of New Haven and Karen (Andrew) Beckstein of Uniondale; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at New Hope Lutheran Church, 8824 N. State Road 1, Ossian with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Paul Doehrmann officiating. Calling is also 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne with US Navy military honors. Preferred memorials to New Hope Lutheran Church or Worship for Shut-ins.
