Robert H Bredemeyer's Obituary
Robert “Bob” H. Bredemeyer, 86, died Saturday, October 26, 2024. Born August 15, 1938, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Herman and Caroline (Bredemeier) Bredemeyer. After graduation from New Haven High School in 1956 he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 4th Armored Division in Erlangen, Germany. He toured Europe in his VW Beetle and visited with his German family and met his grandmother. Upon returning home he married Carol A. Brunner and designed and built their home in the Thurman settlement near his childhood home. He retired from Falstaff Brewery, Fort Wayne and St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Fort Wayne. He also owned a bicycle sales and repair shop. His many interests included reading, playing guitar, and fledging the baby blue birds on his bluebird trails. He was a member of the Indiana Bluebird Society. He especially enjoyed owning MG’s and belonging to British car clubs.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol (Brunner) Bredemeyer; children, Robin Bredemeyer and Joel (Brandi) Bredemeyer; grandchildren, Benjamin Lockwood, Jeffrey Bredemeyer, Natalie (Matthew) Schelling, Josette (Zach) Mezera, and Miranda Becker; great granddaughter, Marigold Mezera. He was also preceded in death by his son John Bredemeyer, and his brother, Edward Bredemeyer; and brother-in-law, Wayne Brunner. Private graveside services at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana, 1212 E. California Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Arrangements by Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
