Robert L. "Bob" Martony's Obituary
Robert L. Martony, 77, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne. Born in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Joseph and Germaine Martony. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He served his country in the Korean War with the United States Marine Corps. and retired in 1986 after 17 years with NIPSCO.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joan of New Haven, daughters: Deborah (Dale) Hunt of New Haven, Janet (Stanley) Schenk of Ft. Wayne, Lisa (Timothy) Smith, and granddaughter: Amanda Smith, both of New Haven and brother, Joseph Martony of Ft. Wayne; sister-in-law: Janet Fisher of Ft. Wayne, two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded by his 1st wife, Joanne Martony in 2003 and a son Joseph Martony in 1957.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 2929 E. Paulding Rd., Ft. Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Father Daniel Durkin officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Burial is in Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Assoc. or The American Heart Assoc.
