Rita Jean Doctor's Obituary
Rita Jean Doctor, 85, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Esther (Frane) Castleman. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. She worked in retail and manufacturing in the local area. She enjoyed crafts and crossword puzzles. She especially loved being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Verle L. Doctor; children, Max (Marsha) Doctor of Hoagland, Jeanette (Mark) Priest of Fort Wayne, Leann (Patrick) Yagodinski of Monroeville, Karla (Gary) Miller of New Haven, Brenda (Shawn) Thatcher of Van Wert, OH, and Brian (Becky) Doctor of Convoy, OH; sister, Phyllis Gilbert of Monroeville; 19 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother William Castleman. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Power Street, New Haven with visitations one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a prayer vigil at 5 p.m. Burial at IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
