Rita Joan Burnham's Obituary
Rita Joan Burnham, 84, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 30, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Burwell J. and Alma (Meschberger) Hoopingarner. She was a member of St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the Harvest House and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and reading. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Therese (Steve) Nichter, Shelly (Clay) Carroll, Denise (Brad) Johnston, Tim Burnham, Veronica (Andy) Muskin, Monica (Chuck) Mosure, Dan (Mary) Burnham, Pat Burnham, Matt (Jackie) Burnham, and Nick (Mandy) Burnham; 34 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Donald Burnham in 2000; daughter, Beth Burnham; grandson, Drake Nahrwold; and sister, Anita Bendele.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials to the church.
