Richard "Dick" Paul Hoeppner, 67, of New Haven died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Woodburn, he was the son of the late Paul and Dorothy Hoeppner. He was a member of Christ Lu Read Obituary
To me, Grandpa was the strongest person I ever knew. He just looked so tough, but he was also very nice. I remember him always eiher reading the newspaper or waching TV. I will never forget you Grandpa. I am sure that you are in heaven watching Law and Order, and Nascar. :)

I am not even sure where to begin. I always felt a deep respect for Dick because you knew, from the moment you first met him, that he was a man with deep morals and character. I was never sure if I met his standards. :) I always tried to do right by him, his son (my husband), and his grandchildren, but was never really sure I fulfilled his expectations...I was, afterall, a "city girl." Well Dick, this "city-girl" is so thankful to have had you in her life. I thank you for the impact you have had on my life..and will conintue to have. I will miss you.
I can't picture Dick without a grin on his face. What a great grin and a great guy. My love and condolences to Bev, Paula, Mark, Linda, Jeff, and the rest of the family.
Uncle Dick... definatly the guy you want to open the door for your daughters first date. Uncle Dick was very intimidating to many people. He was really a big Teddybear that loved to give me a hard time and I loved to dish it right back. I'm going to miss you Richard P.. Save me a set of wings up there...
Dick was a wonderful husband, father,grandfather. He was the best thing that ever happened to my sister. He was a man of his word. I am honored to have him as a brother-in-law. He will be missed terribly. He will always be know my Big Dick by many people. I pray for my sister and his children and grandchildren for God to give them strength in his passing.
Up to this point, of the memories I have read, we all have shared the intimidating look Dick could give anyone at any time. But remember, that was just part of his reputation that we had built of him. And reputation is only what people think you are. Once you were able to actually get to know Dick, by his character, by which a person really, truley, presents themselves. You couldn`t have met or known a better person than Richard "Dick" Paul Hoeppner. Just like many other people he would give the shirt off his back, if he knew someone needed it. I am very grateful for having the past 20+ years to know Dick and Bev and their familey. May time and love bring you peace.

Grandpa, I love you and really miss you. I just wanted to say that you were an amazing person. You were what every man should strive to be. I know that you are much happier now and that you are in Heaven. I would bet you are sitting in a Huge recliner too. (: One day, I will once again join you in that chair like I used to do when I was little. You are greatly missed and Im not going to say its not hard, but it brings me joy just knowing you are out of pain. I love you so much Grandpa!! I can't wait to see you again. (:
I don't know where to start. I have so many memories with Grandpa. I always loved helping Grandpa mow the yard and watching the animals on the discovery channel with him. Grandpa was my hero. He has taught me so many things and has helped make me who I am today. I know that he is watching over me now up in heaven. I love you Grandpa. I cannot wait to see you again one day.
