Richard L Griffith's Obituary
Richard L. Griffith, 99, of Fort Wayne and Clear Lake, died Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Park Place Senior Living, Fort Wayne. Born in Huntington, IN, He was the son of the late Ottis and Florence (Kunce) Griffith. He was an Engineer for Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail for 44 years and retired in 1985. He proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army Air Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post #47, Fort Wayne and was a member of Clear Lake Lutheran Church. Richard and his wife Millie enjoyed their years as members of the Promenaders and the Smile Arounds. He enjoyed tinkering around the lake house and was very tech savvy. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia “Pat” (Larry) Bobay, Virginia “Ginger” (David) Tellman, and Beth (Ron) Bade; sister, Barbara Eisberg; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mildred (Bowers) Griffith; sisters, Betty Fleming, Mary Koontz, and Virginia North. Private graveside services will be held at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Worship Anew at www.worshipanew.org/donate.
