Richard (Dick) Griebel 94, of Hoagland passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. Born September 5, 1921 on the family farm in Marion Township to parents Martin A. and Clara M. (Doctor) Griebel, Dick Read Obituary
Richard is fondly recalled as a tower of strength, integrity, faith, caring, and stability. He was an abiding inspiration to his entire Reinking / Griebel extended family, across many years and generations. We particularly recall that Dick and Edie extended many kind acts of hospitality to us during our Indiana years in the '70's, for which we will always be most grateful. May Dick's family members be sustained always in Christ's sure love and comforting support, in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection, and in the many warm memories they now share about their much esteemed and most respected patriarch.

Cecil and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you! I have missed Dick and Edie at Chapel, Emporium and just generally around the building. Dick used to come in regularly for a candy bar.

I thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of meeting Richard, being able to share a few stories, and finding out that we were related . . . albeit distantly. I regret that I did not know him earlier in my life as it was easy to tell what a wonderful man he was.
My thoughts, prayers, and tears are with all of you as you mourn his passing and I pray that you take great comfort in the fact that he is merely sleeping in the arms of Jesus.

Mr. Griebel knew a lot of my family members from the past, who also grew up in that area, and listening to him talk about them, was priceless for me. Thank you Mr. Griebel for sharing your memories of them with me. May you rest in peace.
As a granddaughter of Richard Griebel was not easy. I do not hav a single significant mom or family event that does not include my GRAMPS. Friday night fish fry and eating watermelon on the tree swing. Collects eggs and beating off the rooster. Getting the raccoons drunk and feeding them marshmallows. Playing in the bar, in the hay loft. I could keep going. Christmas 2015 was not the same without him and Granny there to join us and complete the GRIEBEL clan. I will you miss you GRAMPS.
