Richard I. Fackler's Obituary
Richard "Dick" I. Fackler, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home. Born in Van Wert County, Ohio he was the son of the late Leo and Marie Fackler. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Haines City, FL where he had a winter home for the last 15 years. He also attended Blackhawk Ministries, Fort Wayne. For the past 30 years he was an Independent Insurance Salesman and had formerly owned Dick's IGA in Convoy, Ohio. Dick was a sports enthusiast who played golf in the Arlington Park Senior League and was an avid Ohio State University and Indianapolis Colts fan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ethel; children, Terry (Beth) Fackler and Beth Anne (John) Pea both of Fort Wayne, Jon (Cindy) Fackler of Loveland, OH, and Jean Ann Weise of San Tan, AZ; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leo Jr. and Glen.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior to service. Deacon Neil Clay and Elder Bill Archer officiating. Calling is also 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Southern Care Hospice or Blackhawk Ministries Finish Strong.
