Richard "Dick" Lorenz Brenneke's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Lorenz Brenneke, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Lorenz and Dorothy (Junk) Brenneke. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He served his country in the US Army Reserves and was a lifelong farmer. He also retired from BF Goodrich in 1987 as a supervisor and had driven truck over the years. He was also a member of the Woodburn Lions Club. Dick held a private pilot license and enjoyed flying, fishing, and traveling across America. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Candy; sons, Bill (Kelli) Brenneke of Albion and Brian (Tammy) Brenneke of Fort Wayne; sister, Jan (Steve) Singer of Hudson; grandchildren, Alex, Katie, Dalton, Dakota, Nicholas, Rachel, Kursten, and Erika; and two great grandchildren, Bryton and Delilah. He was also preceded in death by his son, Todd Brenneke in 2007. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
