Richard "Dick" Bruick's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Bruick, 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was the son of the late Melvin and Thelma (Long) Bruick. He worked over 20 years at Zollner Piston, Fort Wayne and retired in 2001. He attended Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fort Wayne. Dick enjoyed spending time at Lake George where he grew up. He spent many years also at Lake Wawasee with his family. You could find him fishing, boating, and tinkering around as a marine mechanic. He also was an avid snowmobile and motorcycle enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda “Sue” (Brown) Bruick; daughter, Melissa (Andy) Schwehn of New Haven; siblings, Jack (Susan) Bruick of New Haven, Linda (Larry) Shindeldecker of Florence KY, and Sandy Scheumann of Monroeville. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ralph Scheumann; nephew, Jeff Bruick. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior (9:30- 10:30 a.m.). Visitations are also 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Shoemaker officiating. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of NE Indiana, or Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter, Fort Wayne.
