Rex Lemar Werker's Obituary
Rex L. Werker, 76, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at home unexpectedly. Born and raised in Ligonier, he was the son of the late Russell and Edrie (Geiger) Werker. He was a past member of Sparta United Church of Christ, Cromwell. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He had worked as an insurance agent and a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 2003. Rex was also an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years; Eveann (Dager); children, Kris Clifford of Columbia City and Troy Werker of Fort Wayne; brother, Ron (Carol) Werker of Greenback, TN; grandchildren, Nikki (David) McCoy and Caden Clifford both of Columbia City; great grandson, Hayden; step daughter, Angela (Quinn) Cunningham of Fort Wayne; and step grandson, Teagan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cochran Werker.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Jim Platner officiating. Calling is also 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Shepherd’s House or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
