Raymond Alphonsus Herb III's Obituary
Raymond “Ray” Alphonsus Herb III, 76, of Woodburn, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was the son of the late Raymond A. and Mary (Gelhaus) Herb. He retired after 27 years at B.F. Goodrich, Woodburn, as a supervisor. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964. Ray enjoyed woodworking, landscaping, NASCAR, hot rods, and participating in amateur racing. He also enjoyed watching the Colts, and the Komets, where he was past president of the fan club. Ray loved to laugh and was known for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara (Erne) Herb; siblings, Steven Herb, Marilyn (Carl) Reinking, and Thomas (Janet) Herb; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Humane Fort Wayne.
