Ralph L. Petty's Obituary
Ralph L. Petty, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Grayson County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Glenn and Wilma "Lucille" (Jones) Petty. Ralph served his country in the US Army and was honored to have the opportunity to take the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He was a faithful member of Statewood Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as an associate pastor and deacon. He retired as a claims adjuster from North American Van Lines with over 20 years. He enjoyed camping at Highland Lakes Baptist Camp in Martinsville and enjoyed working with the Royal Ambassadors there. He also enjoyed singing, supporting Taps on the Square in Martinsville, golfing, sports, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie; sons, John Petty and James (Stafanie) Petty; brother, Alan (Tammy) Petty; grandson, Logan Petty; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is 11 am Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St Rd 930 E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 6 to 8 pm Friday, April 11, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Cemetery, Fort Wayne with military honors.
