Phyllis L. Doster's Obituary
Phyllis L. Doster, 82, of New Haven, passed away July 23, 2014 at Heritage Park Nursing Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Paulding County on September 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Mearl and Lucile (Armour) Davis. She was a graduate of Haviland High School, Haviland, Ohio. She was a member of Woodburn United Methodist Church, since 1960 and was also a member of United Methodist Women. She married Donald E. Doster on July 3, 1949 who preceded her in death on December 25, 2011. Phyllis was a homemaker and worked at Golden Years Homestead. She also was a loving babysitter for many children and many adopted her as "mom' or "grandma".
She is survived by her children, Mearl Doster of Noblesville, Franklin (Brenda) Doster, David (Kim) Doster, and Susan Doster all of New Haven; siblings, Gordon (Marieta) Davis and Norma (Terry) Kuster both of Montgomery, MI, William (Laura) Davis of Jerome, MI, Rex (Marie) Davis of Grover Hill, OH, and Connie (Steven) Tressler of Bryan, OH; sister-in-law, Pat Doster of Broughton, OH; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Mary Doster; and brothers, Gene, Jimmy, and Marvin Davis.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Woodburn United Methodist Church, 4300 Becker Rd., Woodburn with calling one hour prior. Pastor Terry McDonald officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Woodburn United Methodist Church.
