Phillip Allen Merrill's Obituary
Phillip Allen Merrill, 61, of Wolcottville, formerly of New Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 10, 2024, at home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Jalah and Rosemary Ann (O'Neill) Saleh, and Richard Merrill. He attended Church of Christ, New Haven. He worked for Foremost Fabricators, and MasterBrand Cabinets, both of Goshen and had previously worked for Parker-Hannifin Corp, New Haven and was the Treasurer of the Messick Lake Association. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast who enjoyed organizing and participating in motorcycle fund raisers. He was also a prospect of the Escorts MC, Albion. Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion Post 215, Lagrange and volunteered much of his time there. Throughout his life he enjoyed gourmet cooking, fishing, hunting, and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Babie "Teresa" Merrill; children, Scott and Kasey Merrill, Jason (Amy) Ashby, and Jeremy Wells; sister, Amy Irven; grandchildren, Vanessa (Wesley) Immroth, Hannah, Alex, and Liam Ashby, Hannah and Natalie Lackey; granddaughter-in-law, Lily Higgins; and great grandchildren, Aza, Lylah, and Oliver Lackey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jamil Salaeh; and grandson, Trevor Lackey.
Memorial service is 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 E. St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation two hours prior (4 to 6pm). Preferred memorials are to The Autism Society of America. To share online condolences please visit www.harperfuneralhome.com.
