Paul E. Van Horn's Obituary
Paul E. Van Horn, 74, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Alfred and Maxine (Wolf) Van Horn. He retired in 1998 from General Electric after 38 years and enjoyed various handyman jobs after retirement. He was a member of Bass Masters, multiple antique clubs, and the Midwest Tool Club as an avid collector of wood plane tools and other antique carpentry tools.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Casey) Van Horn of Grandville, MI, Michelle (Frank) Norman of Anderson, Mark (Christy) Van Horn of Monroeville, PA, and Paul Jason (Stephanine Byus) Van Horn of Fort Wayne,; siblings, David (Donna) Van Horn of New Haven, Suzanne (John) Smith of Melbourne, FL, Richard (Peggy) Van Horn of Fort Wayne, Janet (Joe) Long of Okeechobee, FL, and John (Connie) Van Horn of New Haven; grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Gabrielle, Patrick, Kyla, Devin, Garrick-Ayden, Mallory, Nicholas, and Jenna; and great grandson, Hunter.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to American Lung Association.
