Paul "PJ" James Warney's Obituary
Paul "PJ" James Warney, 90, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor, Fort Wayne. PJ went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family. Born in Dickson City, Penn., he was the son of the late Alfonso and Freda (Mathias) Warney. He attended Fellowship Missionary Church, Fort Wayne. The US Army veteran served his country during World War II. He was the owner and operator of PJ's Sports Pub and Grub and also worked at The National Cigar Store. An avid sports fan, he loved the New York Yankees, IU Basketball, Notre Dame Football, and horse racing.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Trudy; children, David (Nerissa) Warney of Las Vegas, NV, Tony Warney of Anchorage, AK, Vince (Tammy) Warney, Barry (Kim Gick) Carroll, Josh Warney, Becky Warney, Lori (Don) Bentz, Christina Warney, and Mindy (Joe Smith) Warney all of Fort Wayne; sister, Lillian Ghilardi of Peckville, PA; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Theodore "Ted" Warney.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Chaplain Heath Lisenby officiating. Calling is also 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials to the family.
