Patrick W. Metzler's Obituary
Patrick W. Metzler, 86, passed away on September 10, 2017 at Heritage Park, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Metzler. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He was a US Air Force veteran and served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Magnavox with over 20 years of service. The avid sports fan was a member of the Fort Wayne Sports Club.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Lisa) Metzler of Thornton, CO, Steve (Marianne) Metzler of Fort Wayne, Bob (Susan) Metzler and Richard Metzler both of New Haven; sister, Helen (Ronald) Shadey of Fort Wayne; two granddaughters; and two step grandsons. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Barbara in August 2017; and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling half hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorial are to the American Cancer Society.
