Norman Lee Davis' Obituary
Norman L. Davis, 88, of New Haven Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by family at his home. Born on November 24, 1937, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was the son of the late Paul and Helen (Roe) Davis. After graduating from Monmouth High School in Decatur, he served in the National Guard. He married June Bohnke on July 20, 1957. Norm worked at Phelps Dodge, retiring after 42 years of service. Norm found joy in life, he will be remembered for his kind heart, giving spirit and strong work ethic. He enjoyed bowling, golf, gardening, the Detroit Tigers and time spent with family. He served faithfully at Emanuel Lutheran Church in many capacities including the Board of Elders and the New Haven Food Bank. He was the cemetery trustee in his retirement years and a dedicated volunteer at Central Lutheran School.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, June C. Davis; children, Tammy (Dave) Heine of Fort Wayne, Terry (Lea) Davis of Land O Lakes, Fla., and Christy (Tim) Rosswurm of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Meredith Heine, Kirstyn (Adam) Kallick, Mark (Sarah) Heine, Alexandria (Jason) Lovell, Megan Rosswurm; step grandchild, Sierra Monday; and nine great grandchildren with one on the way. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dwight Davis; and sisters, Eileen Dawson, Daisy Hurst, Marcille Dear.
Funeral service is 10:30 am Monday, February 16, 2026, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 5 pm Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery.
