Nina R. Stratton's Obituary
Nina Ruth Stratton, 94, of Fort Wayne, formerly of New Haven, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Heritage Park, Fort Wayne. Born in Greeneville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Cleve and Rebecca (Lewis) Olinger. She was a member of First Baptist Church, New Haven. She was a "true" homemaker who enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, collecting dolls, cooking, knitting, country and gospel music, dancing with her husband and playing bingo at McDonald's and Burger King. She was also an avid history buff who could name all the US presidents in order.
She is survived by her children, Monty (Malinda) Stratton, John Stratton, and Deanna (Timothy) Beauchot; grandchildren, Annetta (Michael) Gibson, Nicholas (Nora) Beauchot, Emerald (Graham) Hopkins, Everette (Allison) Stratton, and Derek Stratton; and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John in 2017; five sisters; and one brother.
Funeral Services is 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials to Heartland Hospice or First Baptist Church, New Haven.
