Nancy Irene Winters' Obituary
Nancy Irene Winters, 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at home. Born in Middle Point, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Ilo (Gipe) Hines. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. She retired as a bus driver for East Allen County Schools in 2001. She was known for her generosity, being a “QVC Queen”, and loving her children. She could often be found playing Bejeweled, Tetris or listening to her favorite group, The Gaither Vocal Band. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill; children, Michael (Paula) Winters and Dianna “Dinnie” (Gerry) Saalfrank both of New Haven; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Michael) Winters, Billie (Chelsea) Saalfrank, Jacob Winters, Samantha Saalfrank, and Allyson Saalfrank; and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her children, Kevin and Sheryl Winters; siblings, Deborath, Barbara, Doris, Richard, Bernard, and Judy; and two great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Mask required. Visitation is also 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Preferred memorials to the church, Riley Children’s Hospital, or Indiana School for the Deaf.
