Dear Bill, May our loving God bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time. I was on Harper Funeral Home's website reviewing brother Bob's obituary when I saw Nancy's as well. My wife, Lyla, and I have been married for 62 years. I can understand the loss of a love one at any time, but especially after all these years. I have probably preached well over a thousand sermons in my career in the teaching and preaching ministry of the Lutheran Church and I usually receive one or more compliments after the service. I don't remember most of them, but about 25 years ago, I preached at Christ Lutheran in Woodburn and after the service Nancy said, "You are quire the orator. I am going to call my mother in Arizona and tell her how good you are." Why I remember that, I don't know. Maybe because her mother, Mrs. Wetter, taught me to appreciate Shakespeare and English class. She was one of my favorite teachers, which is saying a lot since I had many of them from grade school through a PhD and seminary program. I remember you as a left handed athlete. Do I have that right? I won't be able to attend brother Bob's funeral because of COVID and the snow. But my sympathies Bill to you and your family. May the peace and joy of the Resurrection be with you always. Your Woodburn schoolmate. John Buuck
