Nancy L. Garman's Obituary
Nancy L. Garman, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, December 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Dorothy Herber. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph- Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Nancy was a homemaker, and cook for many years at St. Joseph-Hessen Cassel School and then retired from East Allen County Schools as a custodian. She loved to read and greatly enjoyed her weekly water aerobics classes with her friends.
She is survived by her children, Roxanne (Donald) Swygart of Poe, Kate (Denny) Bragg of Huntertown, and Christopher Garman of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jonathan and Patrick Bragg of Huntertown; and siblings, Judy (Bill) Wesling, Rose Marie Frye, Barb (Donald) Shaidnagle, Jane (David) Martin, Steve Herber, and Liz Fisher; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Garman in 2003; and brother, John Herber.
Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Joseph- Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11337 Old Decatur Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Father Cornelius Ryan, C.S.C. and Father Edward Erpelding officiating. Burial is in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Masses, Boomerang Backpacks for Kids or the Poe Volunteer Fire Department.
