Mildred "Millie" G. Bowers' Obituary
Mildred “Millie” G. Bowers, 91, of Auburn, formerly of New Haven, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellanora Fabian. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the rosary sodality and the harvest house. She retired in 1968 as the owner/operator of Manny’s Tavern in 1968, worked for General Electric for 17 years, and went on to retire from the cafeteria at New Haven High School after 17 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Grant) Fetters of Madisonville, Tenn. and Diane (Thomas) Ward of Auburn; grandchildren, Sarah Lang of Germany, Nicholas Childers of Indianapolis, Anne Delagrange of Fort Wayne, and Kate Ward of Auburn; three great grandchildren; and one niece. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Manfred C. Bowers in 1987.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father James Seculoff officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Masses. Arrangements by E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
