Metta Jean Jacquay's Obituary
Metta Jean Jacquay, 83, of New Haven, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Parkview Hospital. The Noble Co. native was the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine Parr. Metta Jean was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven and the Alter Sodality. She retired in 1960 as a secretary from International Harvester to raise her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Jacquay, Sr.; children: Gregory Jacquay of New Haven, Robert Jacquay, Jr., of Coldwater, MI and Cheryl (Joe) Seelig of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren: Chelsea & Karisa Jacquay, Cathy Nienhaus, Crystal Berry, Jeff & Coby Seelig; 4 great-grandchildren; and brother: Burdette Parr of Ashley, IN. She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 4 sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling 1 hour prior to service. Father James Seculoff officiating. Calling is also from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven with a rosary at 2:30 P.M. Burial is in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Masses.
