Maxine "Mac" Clem's Obituary
Maxine “Mac” Clem, 96, passed away on August 10, 2018 at Golden Years Homestead Nursing Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lillian (Banet) Gremaux. She was the co-owner and operator of New Haven Locker Service, New Haven with her husband. She retired after 34 years in 1978. Maxine was a dog breeder for many years where she raised Irish Setters. She competed in numerous dog shows across the country and had several champions. Maxine was known as a fabulous cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed getting together with her lady friends known as “The Club”.
She is survived by her children, Sondra Hire and Mary Clem both of Fort Wayne, Kathleen (Michael) Langona of Indianapolis, John (Pamela) Clem of Woodburn, and Debra Clem of Louisville, KY; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank “Bud” Clem in 1994; siblings, Gerald Gremaux and Ursula Werling.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 East, New Haven with visitation two hours prior. Reverend Jim Platner officiating. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, 3020 Hilegas Rd., Fort Wayne, IN.
