Maude R. Rathge's Obituary
Maude R. Rathge, 94, of New Haven, died February 9, 2013. Born in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Saurer. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. She retired in 1980 from Woodburn Diamond Die after 10 years. She had previously worked at East Allen County Schools and spent many years as a farmer and homemaker. She was known for her faith, strength, and good advice.
She is survived by her children, James (Jan) Rathge of New Haven, Deborah (Thomas) Gerbers of Hamilton, Marilyn Rupright and Carilyn (William) Reiter both of Fort Wayne; sister, Irene Rekeweg of Woodburn; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Rathge in 1995; grandson, Chad Gerbers; three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn with calling one hour prior. Pastor Tim Edwards officiating. Calling is also 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in Bowers Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
