Mary Boling's Obituary
Mary Boling, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, at River Terrace Estates, Bluffton. Born in Paulding, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Shafer) Thomas. She worked at General Electric for ten years, but most of her life was spent caring for her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, David Boling of Fort Wayne, John “Scott” (Cathy) Boling of New Haven, Robert (Kathy) Boling of Ossian, James “Mike” Boling of Fort Wayne, Julie (James) Franks of Roanoke; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Marvin L. Boling; grandson, Bradley Boling; siblings, Hilda Rettig, Mable Jones, Anna Matson, Martha Clark, John Thomas, David Thomas, and Clarence Thomas; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Boling.
Funeral service is 12:30 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Chaplain Karen Kosberg officiating. Calling is also 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare, Berne.
