Marvin Earl Lahr's Obituary
Marvin Earl Lahr, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Georgetown Place, Fort Wayne. Born in Huntington, he was the son of the late Samuel Lahr and Lilian (Hatfield) Johnson. He served his country in the US National Guard, retired from ITT after 30 years, was the past president of the Izaak Walton League, and past board member for the YMCA. As an avid environmentalist, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting mushrooms. He was also known as a "jack of all trades" and was always up for a game of euchre or poker.
He is survived by his children, Linda (John) Fortman, Vicki (Donald) Thiele, Tracy (Mark) Trevino, and Scott (Rhonda) Lahr; half-brother, Daniel Johnson; brother-in-law, Donald "Butch" Miller; grandchildren, Joseph Fortman, Jamie Rowlan, Sarah Trevino, Skylee Trevino, Tony Lahr, Collin Lahr, Angela Weaver, and Jordan Lahr; and great grandchildren, Rachel, Rebekah, Lilianna, Maya, Luna, Luke, Oliver, Nico, Jack, Piper, and Everly. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Sarah "Joan" Lahr in 1998; and siblings, Marge Miller, Chet Lahr and Kenneth Lahr.
Funeral service is 1 pm Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation two hours prior (11 to 1 pm).
