Mark was my planner dispatcher and friend for many years I would bug him 24 hours a day if I had to work so did he and the funny thing about it he always picked up the phone for me! When I found out he was retiring I was sad I was also sad to find out he was sick and I’m very sad to have heard my friend has passed away! I think about mark all the time I miss our talks and I especially miss him. Rest easy mark ViVi and I love you buddy.
I was sorry to hear that Mark passed away. I worked with him at navl. He was a great, fun, co-worker and more important a really nice man. Prayers to his family.

Mark Hevel was my very first friend in kindergarten, through high school and lasting through life. We enjoyed playing baseball (we were co-captains), basketball and football together as well as all the great high school activities and clubs. We also coached baseball together. I'll miss you old friend, but I'm glad your struggle with ALS is over, and you can have eternal rest and peace. I'm happy that we got to spend some quality time together this year seeing some baseball--our own Field of Dreams.

I've worked with Mark for many years and while he was a wonderful co-worker, he was an even better friend. When dealing with a loss or illness, he would always send a card with a heartfelt message. Such a great guy who will be deeply missed. Nancy and family, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
