Marilyn Lou Smith's Obituary
Marilyn Lou Smith, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away on her birthday, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Golden Years Home Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Dano and Caroline (Sprunger) Harris. She was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. She had worked at Wolfe and Dessauer, Lincoln Life, Sears, and Dairy Queen. She also volunteered at Parkview Hospital and the Botanical Gardens. She enjoyed gardening, sending cards and letters, and gifting her personal artwork to her loved ones. She especially loved her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) Smith, Kathy (Tad) Biddle, and Marc (Lori) Smith; daughter-in-law, Suzy Smith; grandchildren, Lucas (Amy) Smith, Evan (Claire) Smith, Nicholas (Rita) Smith, Lindsay (Casey) Anderson, Allison (Justin) Slusher, Stefani (Derek) Fillers, Molly (Adam Gwilliam) Smith, Hank (Melissa) Smith, Sam Smith, Harrison (Peyton) Smith, and Samantha (Jack) Adams; great grandchildren, Lillian, Michael, Catherine, Xander, Vanessa, Declan, Dugan, Eleanor, Nolan, Bernadette, Percival, Wyatt, Annie, Dylan, Lydia, Maisy, Archie, Tilly, Wynnie, Emmy, Charlotte, Millie, and Cecelia; and special niece, Heidi (Steve) Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Marvin in 2017; an infant son in 1957; son, Steve Smith; and brother, John Harris
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment in the church cemetery.
