Margret Winicker's Obituary
Margret Helen Winicker, 92, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Marie (Oswalt) Seelig. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. She was a clerk at Cunningham Optical before leaving the workforce to care for her grandchildren. Margret loved taking care of people and enjoyed sewing. She was also a great pie maker and was known for making Springerle cookies. She is survived by her children, Steven Winicker of Knox, Christina (Tom) Essig of Fort Wayne, Janice (Bob) Spencer of West Richland, WA, and Edward (Terry) Winicker of New Haven; siblings, William Seelig of Fort Wayne, Charles (Linda) Seelig of Woodburn, and Joyce (Ted) Zarnoch of Grove City, OH; nine grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Eugene in 2003; and brother, Elmer Seelig. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Scott Zeckzer officiating. Visitation is also 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Smile Train Charity.
