Margaret E. Woenkhaus' Obituary
Margaret E. Woenkhaus, 75, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at Heritage Park Assisted Living, Fort Wayne. Born in Geneva, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mable (nee. Hurst) Ray. She grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated from Northside High School in 1955. She went on to marry Wilfried Woenkhaus in June of 1959. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven and a former member of the Fort Wayne Sports Club Ladies Auxiliary. She retired in 1999 as a school bus driver for East Allen County Schools after 25 years, and as a bus driver for East Noble Community Schools in 2004. . "Our Margaret was a loving wife and mother, doting grandmother, and very proud great-grandma. She was a generous woman full of love, joy, and strength. She will be deeply missed."
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Wilfried; sons, Richard (Angie) Woenkhaus of Fort Wayne and David Woenkhaus of Gas City; grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Leverton, Amy (Jon) Preston, Austin Rausch, Alex Woenkhaus, Brandon and Trevor Woenkhaus; great grandchildren, Madeline Pinkham and Caleb Preston.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor David Williamson officiating. Calling is also 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Raynauds Association, 94 Mercer Ave., Hartsdale, NY 10530.
