Margaret M Trzynka's Obituary
Margaret M. Trzynka, 99, of New Haven, Indiana passed from this earth to Heaven on August 2, 2024. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 8, 1925, and was daughter of Herman and Louise (Felger) Lunz. Margaret married Norman Trzynka on December 8, 1945, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. They had nine children, Carolyn (William) North, Dennis (Ruth) Trzynka, Richard (Penny) Trzynka, Marilyn (Robert) Stemmler, Norma (Gary) Scheele, Thomas (Kathy) Trzynka, Joan (Pete) Steinkamp, Patricia (Steven) Gerdom, and Ann (Todd Pickett) Trzynka. They also shared 20 grandchildren and 31 great-children. Margaret had a strong faith and loved being a mother and nurturing her large family. She was a wonderful, cook, seamstress, and gardener. Every holiday from New Year’s Day to Christmas was a celebration filled with food, decorations, and family fun. She was known for pie baking, and everyone had their favorite, from lemon meringue to concord grape. Her personal favorite was sour cherry with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Margaret also prepared and decorated beautiful multi-tiered wedding cakes for each of her children’s weddings. In the summers you could find Margaret working in the yard and garden growing the most beautiful flowers and vegetables. She canned and pickled the vegetables which she served at treasured family meals, including a New Years’ celebration with sauerkraut. Her other hobbies included golfing, bowling, walking, biking, and fishing. One of her favorite hobbies was playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre, and she was the prized partner of anyone playing the game.
She was preceded in death by Norman Trzynka, Dennis and Ruth Trzynka, Robert Stemmler, Penny Trzynka, a grandson Jay DeWeese, a great-grandson Matthew Swymeler, and six siblings. Her family and those who knew her loved her dearly and will miss her beyond measure. Visitation will be on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 3:30 to 7:30 pm at Harper’s Community Funeral Home with a funeral service on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church Gar Creek,1910 N. Berthaud Rd., New Haven, with visitation an hour before the service. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church Gar Creek or donor’s choice.
