Margaret Rekeweg-Schafer's Obituary
Margaret Rekeweg-Schafer, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Parkview Hospital - Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Hugo and Eleanor (Breimeier) Gehring. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Woodburn, the church choir, and the sewing group. She also enjoyed card club and playing euchre.
She is survived by her sons, Neal (Jackie) Rekeweg of Fort Wayne, John (Donna) Rekeweg of Woodburn, Dale (Lisa) Rekeweg and Mark (Brenda) Rekeweg both of Spencerville; brother, Bob (Jeanne) Gehring of Auburn; and numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Rekeweg in 1987 and Louis Schafer in 2010; and daughter, Ruth Gasser in 2001.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, 7616 Bull Rapids Rd., Woodburn with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Paul Dancy officiating. Visitation is also 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church or Woodburn Lutheran School.
